Fair. Righteous. In accordance with what is right.
The second half of our name isn't a marketing choice — it's a namesake, and the standard we hold every case to.
Practice Areas
Where we can help
A focused practice, not a general store. Below are the areas we handle most — reach out if your situation doesn't fit neatly into one.
Uncontested Divorce & Family Matters
Separation agreements, mediated settlements, and amicable divorces, handled to minimize cost and conflict for everyone involved.
Estate Planning
Wills, trusts, and powers of attorney drafted plainly, so your family never has to guess what you meant.
Business & Contract Law
Formation, agreements, and counsel for owners who want issues resolved at the negotiating table, not the courthouse.
International & Cross-Border Matters
Guidance on agreements, transactions, and personal matters that cross jurisdictions, informed by graduate study in international law.

Naomi E. Christie
LLB (Distinction) · LEC (Honours) · LLM, NYU — International Legal Studies · Legal Educator
Naomi Christie founded the firm after years spent on both sides of the law — as State Counsel for the government, and in private practice handling criminal matters and divorces. That experience shaped a clear preference: most people are better served by a resolution reached carefully than a fight won expensively.
She holds an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from NYU School of Law, and practises today as private defense counsel in the community where she was born and raised — appearing for the accused in Berbice's courtrooms while giving the same careful attention to the practice's non-contentious work: agreements, estates, and cross-border matters.
Advocacy is a long discipline for her. Before she was a counsel she was a champion debater and mooter — debating in the J.O.F. Haynes competition and performing in the national Mashramani drama competitions for New Amsterdam Multilateral, then mooting in the Caribbean Court of Justice's mooting competition as a law student. That training still shapes how every argument leaves this office.
Beyond the practice, she is a legal educator: author of a line of free law textbooks for Guyana and founder of an extensive open research library. Her texts and study guides are free to every reader at The Christie Justus Law Library.
The firm carries two names — one a family name, the other a reminder of what the work is supposed to be.
Every matter that comes through this office gets the same standard of attention, whether it's a straightforward estate plan or a cross-border agreement years in the making.
